Oral hygiene is something that has to be taught from an early age, but it is not always easy. Trino Rojo watches her human friend brush her teeth every day and he wants to do it too, but he has a problem: he is a bird!

Every morning mom yells at Julie: "Julie, brush your teeth, or you’ll need a filling!" Well, I’m a little bird who looks after his health, and all this business about getting a filling must be horrible, because she talks about it every day. There’s no way I’m going to have one of those things in my teeth. Trino Rojo can be many things, but irresponsible is not one of them! But how do birds brush their teeth? Excited, he searches for information on the Internet and consults all the encyclopedias at home, but he does not find any answer. He discovers that other animals brush their teeth gnawing on wood or chewing on some seaweed, so he decides to give it a try. Result: a failure. Will Trino Rojo find a solution for him?

Biografía del autor e ilustrador

Marta Zafrilla nació en abril de 1982 en Murcia. Es profesora, aunque también se dedica a la escritura y a la poesía. Ha publicado relatos en revistas nacionales e internacionales y varias colecciones de poesía. Sus poemas y reseñas de libros han aparecido en publicaciones culturales y ha ocupado diversos trabajos en agencias de publicidad y editoriales. A parte de corear el género de la poesía, Zafrilla ha sido premiada por su labor de escritora de literatura infantil. Los dientes de Trino Rojo es uno de sus libros más aclamados.

A Sonja Wimmer le encanta pintar y contar historias. Después de estudiar y trabajar como diseñadora en su ciudad natal Munich y en Bruselas, decidió mudarse con su maleta a Barcelona, para estudiar ilustración en la Llotja - Escola Superior de Disseny i Art. Desde entonces vive entre pinceles y cuentos, trabajando como ilustradora freelance para editoriales y otros clientes en todo el mundo. En los últimos años, varios de sus libros han sido premiados en Estados Unidos. En 2011 recibió el premio Moonbeam Children's Book Awards al mejor ilustrador por su libro La coleccionista de palabras.
