Description

A moving and inspiring text takes us on a journey through the work that, generation after generation, has been done by each and every woman in this family.

Mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, daughters, nieces, cousins and granddaughters. Generation after generation, all of them have maintained a beautiful tradition: to leave their essence embroidered on a beautiful quilt, giving rise to a valuable and unique fabric, forged from love and memories.

Women so different and yet so united that together they have created a wonderful family. But can it stay that way? Who will now be in charge of maintaining this special tradition?

A story about respect for traditions that celebrates the family as the fundamental cornerstone of our lives.

But can this charming tradition be kept alive?

Let yourself be surprised by this wonderful story, skillfully woven by Desirée Acevedo and Víctor Jaubert.

Author and Illustrator Bio

Desirée Acevedo is a Spanish illustrator born in Huelva. Passionate about drawing since she held a pencil in her hand for the first time, everything suggested that she would study some artistic degree, but she finally graduated in Teaching. That is the reason her picture books combine her three passions: writing stories, illustrating them and the timeless lessons that books offer. Acevedo now lives in Seville, where she has participated in several courses on illustration, drawing techniques, narrative and one specifically on the creative process of the picture book. She has published more than 20 picture books.

Víctor Jaubert, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, grew up on the island of La Palma surrounded by watercolors and colored pencils. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna and has already brought color to more than thirty publications. He has worked as a teacher and develops children's picture book projects while collaborating with advertising agencies on campaigns and posters for the Canary Islands. In 2010, he received the Special Award in the category of Canarian authors at the 5th International Contest of the Insular Library of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In his compositions, which have a distinctive personal style, he works traditionally, combining gouache, watercolor, colored pencils, and collage. His illustrations depict a sophisticated society where details are exaggerated in a fun, colorful, and symbolic style.
